So? The gun should be empty if you're disassembling it anyways...

I prefer the "non-conventional" safety (ie not a safety really in my good) on my pistols. I never use the safety on my weapons unless I'm moving with the weapon in hand such as creeping from one hunting spot to the next. Even then my finger discipline is my safety with the mechanical safety ONLY being a "fail-safe" system.
You don't generally have to carry pistols around like you would a rifle/shotgun hunting. |

Even after you clear the chamber you're still pointing in a safe direction (such as a porcelain tub or toilet, with nothing behind them/etc for the bullet to go if somehow you miss). I actually have a hunting story of this: dude thought his rifle was fully unloaded (bolt action, internal mag) He "fry fired" (of course it wasn't a rim fire and older, IBdryfiredebate) it pointing in a safe direction and BAM we all nearly had a to change our drawers. |

You still have to pull the trigger to break it down though (Glock). Obviously in a safe direction after visually and physically inspecting for any rounds in the chamber.
Still I dint see an issue with that. |

It will happen, just a matter of when. The issue with guns that require you to pull the trigger to take down is, that when you do forget, boom. Is that a negative to the weapon? Sure. Is that a reason not to have one? Nope. |

I've never taken a 1911 apart and found a round in the chamber... Make checking the chamber near constantly part of your routine and you won't forget.
