My back is sore; my legs are worn; my feet stings with every step. I have been walking almost non-stop ever since I met up with my friend echowinds at the subway station. I'm glad he came because I think having someone there to chat with you, to joke with you, and to laugh with you makes the day far easier to pass by. On top of that, it's also the fact that I haven't seen him since last summer, and that just makes me more excited to see him.
The subway eventually led us to an indoor shopping strip which surprisingly connected to a high class hotel. The first thing we did was we went to the washroom to see what I could jack. Inside the washroom was an unlocked storage room which I know we're not supposed to go into, but I ended up checking anyways
. I took a small box of tissue from the washroom, and right when we were about to leave, a staff walked in and if we were literally a few seconds too late, we could of been caught
. After raiding the washroom, echowinds suggested that we go find towels from the pool. It turns out that the towels were watched by the life guard, so we initially thought that we weren't able to get them. However, after rethinking the situation, I got them afterwards by telling the life guard a complete lie: I simply told him I needed it for the change room. The guard gave me a quick nod, then I grabbed my new towels and got the hell out of there
.
After leaving the hotel as a petty thief, we made our way to the Eaton Centre, Toronto's largest shopping mall. Since both of us didn't need to buy anything, there wasn't much to do, except that I knew my need for a water bottle as thirst was slowly creeping up my sore throat. I looked in several garbage cans and saw bottles in there, but I have to admit that I needed some time to summon the courage to actually dig in a garbage can in front of all the shoppers around me at that time, and when I finally did, I realized that the garbage can I was picking from had some muddy yellow water at the bottom which my target bottle was semi-drenched in
. I quickly dumped that shit and exchanged it for a cleaner Coke bottle which you can see from the pic.
That bottle, the towel, and the box of tissue was all the stuff I jacked today. I still had two goals in mind: to find a computer and to find a place to sleep. This really gave me a chance to explore the area a bit more as we walked from campus to campus searching for a library, and when we did, we made our way to China town and got myself some cheap food (ramen) for snacks later.
Unfortunately, after more walking, echowinds had to leave
. We said our goodbyes and parted ways.
I backtracked my way to China town to get my dinner: 5 buns for... guess how much? A grand total of $2.00. Conclusion - China town ftmfw. Continuing my way, following my previous footsteps back to this library, I can't begin to tell you how long and exhausting that felt, but knowing that each step of ache brings me one step closer to here (the library) kept me going 'til the end, so finally, with my sore back, worn legs, and stinging feet, I write to you my first major update of this adventure.
This library will close at 10:00 pm and by then, I'll have to find this secluded alleyway that me and echowinds discovered earlier for me to sleep in. To be honest, the exact location of that place is fading from my memory, so wish me luck
