Do you like Snatch? Yeah we all like pussy, I’m talking the movie. This is the movie it was based off of, which in my opinion is better. Think Snatch but replace boxing with cards, diamonds with weed and you have the premise for this movie.
In Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, four guys who hold semi-respectable jobs pool their money together in a high stakes card game. They end up owing half a million which has to be paid within a week. This debt forces the four men to delve into the world of crime.
The main reason to watch this is for the humour that presents itself in nearly every scene. The humour isn’t the only reason to watch this movie though as a thrilling crime plot, violence, and plot twists are also involved. You also get a chance to see Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones at their best, before they sold out. Big Chris (Vinnie Jones) is one of my favourite characters in any film. Lock Stock is a feel good, humourous, exciting movie, great for one of those nights where you just want to be entertained.
A lot of people seem to have problems with interpreting what everyone is saying. I don’t think it is of too much concern; they are easier to understand than Brad Pitt in Snatch… If you struggle with English accents you might have some problems with this one.
