Bush is now trying to do good things for once since he is President (ie. aids relief in Africa). Do you think he will get a better approval rating so that he can try to say hey, look people still like republicans, and try to boost McCain?

he'll try to help the morale of the GOP but i think for the most part his ratings will stay the same. people are over Bush at this point and only care about the upcoming election.

we've pretty much had our fill.

I think they'll fall just to continue this bush-hating bandwagon that's lasted 4-5 years

even if Iraq is "stabilizing" or his attempts to improve America's foreign reputation are the least bit successful, the economy is so fucked that he doesn't have a chance to go down as a successful president.

I think his ratings will drop; at best they'll stay the same. But approval ratings don't matter to a lame duck, and GW doesn't have the brains or wisdom to do anything worthwhile's before the next president takes office.

The economy is only going to get worse. His approval rating certainly won't increase as the rest of the nation realizes how bad the economy is doing.
