I have a pirated copy of xp pro and while doing updates it was recognized as a non legit cd key so now im getting these counterfeit popups when i restart and just randomly every so often. not sure if i can get updates any more or not.
any way to get rid of this? should i try reinstalling and finding another copy/key somehwere?
I'd look for a cracked copy or a corperate key which can be installed on up to 500 systems. either one would do good.

THIS (http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/04/26/disable-and-remove-windows-genuine-advantage-notifications-nag-screen/) tutorial shows how to remove WGA.
Then you could look into using mublinder (http://www.p2plife.com/forums/Official_muBlinder_Page-t320.html), this allows you to update Windows

I'd go with a copy of XP Corporate with a site license.
It'll pass all the WGA checks.

I was doing a new machine rollout for an equipment rental company and their XP installations came up pirated/overused :oopsie:
