GTA IV is due out in just a little more than a month. I read in the paper that EA is in the process of trying to purchase take-two, which i guess is the head company of rockstar and whatnot, before it comes out to become a bigger force in the gaming industry.

if EA buys take-two, they will basically own the industry, as take-two and its subsidiaries develop and release a LOT of the games on the market, especially console-wise.

i'm hoping EA doesn't buy it, though, because everything EA touches turns into pure shit.

Well if it's the only reason he bought it then it was a bad idea because the 360 one will be better. Although if he's going to use the Blu-Ray player then he probably will be better off.

I originally planned on the 360 but its tendency towards catastrophic failure turned me off. Since I had a library of PS2 games the extra cost seemed worthwhile.

Prologue is coming out before gta but the full version of gta 5 is gonna be out next year.

GTA is looking pretty good, though I want to see some footage of the multiplayer. Watching that guy roll down the steps looked competely awesome, I cant wait to run people over with my car just to see how the euphoria engine does its job.

Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected. That a game with great AI, an awesome physics engine and a detailed open world runs so well and with such short load times is a technical marvel. For that, I can forgive framerate issues and some noticeable aliasing.

For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud.

Have they said anything about the environment differences between the PS3 and Xbox? I remember seeing a screen shot of an inside of a warehouse, and the PS3 had boarded up windows, where as the 360 had open windows and a view of the city.

Both in beta versions of the game. This is a gold edition review (ie, release spec) and mentions nothing of the sort.

I already pre-ordered it for PS3. It's always been a Playstation game, and I find myself playing my PS3 more and more over my 360.

oh. i think it goes around the whole city. i've only taken a ride once and it was for a mission so i only went one stop but you can either sit through the ride and look around the city while you wait or just skip right to your stop. same with taxis
