It will simply stop connecting. I will be surfing a site (NN, ebay, etc) and it will just hang and stop downloading from the site. IE doesn't do it.
It worked perfectly until about a week ago.

Please run CCleaner (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/) with the FireFox option/temp files included and report back mate.
Merci beaucoup.

I was having the same problem. I installed the NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722) addon and it works fine now.

I've seen the same thing since the 2.0.0.12 update. I have to see if I have an older release laying around and try it out.

:wtc: Been thinking -- I disabled a few unneccessary processes. I can't remember if this started after or before I did that.
And FF will work fine for 2-3 min, then it will simply pause in its downloading
You could try opera as a temporary fix

Same here.
Except even though I have upgraded, it asks me randomly if I want to upgrade. :ugh:

what are the advantages/disadvantages of upgrading to the beta right now?

I see none. Actually.. it worked fine before, and I knew I shouldnt upgrade. I'm gonna revert back to a later version I think.
It won't stop asking me to upgrade, even though I already have numerous times!

You can always uninstall and install FireFox.

Have you tried deleting your profile? Back up your bookmarks first (THIS IS IMPORTANT), then go to the run command and enter "firefox -p". Delete the profile, close and start Firefox.

I have noticed some websites cause firefox to stop downloading, most notably myspace. Dont know what it is about myspace, but it causes it to completely stop downloading. I havent really noticed any other sites that causes it. FF3B5 works perfectly except for myspace.
All the opera haters, list your reasons...because you sound dumb as fuck. Opera is a class act, has been for 10+ years
