LOS ANGELES - Hollywood took a big step Tuesday toward offering more movies in 3-D, announcing deals to convert as many as 10,000 more theater screens for the digital technology needed to accommodate the resurgent, eye-popping.

i've never seen any 3-d stuff. How's the quality, would it be worth it to see movies in 3-d or is it just another gimmick?

you know, i doubt that its a gimmick. the movie industry needs a new catch to drive people to the theaters, now that home viewing options are vast and convenient.

if you read the article, you'll notice that all the big dawgs are getting in on it:

four studios — Disney, News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount, and Universal Pictures, which is owned by General Electric Co.'s NBC Universal — to finance and equip the screens in the U.S. and Canada during the next three years.f

i think it will be awesome. but i wonder if you have to wear those dorky glasses...

i don't think you need to wear glasses at all.
