You guyz. What's your favorite album?
I'd have to go with either Axis, or Electric Ladyland. Axis is one of those albums you have to hear in it's entirety and Bold as Love is made of Sean Connery and win.

It's great how he can be so shy and reserved but can speak volumes with his guitar.

I think I gotta go with "Are You Experienced" actually.

way way in
deep all the way
like a 12" nigger cock in a blonde jailbait's ass
 :h5:
one of my favorite songwriters
i actually don't care too much for his lead guitar
altho he definitely had some of the best RHYTHM guitar playing
but mostly i love his songwriting
some really outstanding stuff
and just his chill tone, i dunno...
i can't exactly put my finger on it :hs:
my favorite album is probably Are You Experienced? it had the most solid songs on there
and Wind Cries Mary is my favorite song of his although I believe it to be unfinished (no real chorus)
saddest thing I've ever known to happen was the death of Jimi Hendrix

Buddy Guy is a better guitar player. Jerry Garcia is a better guitar player. Eddie Van Halen is a much better guitar player. Jimmy Page is a better guitar player.
Well, better soloists. But out of all of them, only EVH is as innovative as Hendrix was, and even then, only in a guitar solo format.
The catchiest riff ever written is "Foxy Lady". Now, I don't care for the lyrics to that song, but the riff is the catchiest I know.
Deep Purple had a song called "Mandrake Root" which used the same riff, too...I dunno how they got away with that...but...they did...it's probably a better song, actually, and I'm not sure which one came first...

I like Hendrix's style better than the others though. He would put so much feeling and soul into his music like I can appreciate Steve Via or Joe Satriani as musicians, but I can never get down to their music. I had astro man stuck in my head as soon as I wok up for some reason.

I love the rare acoustic shit.

yea, "style" is a way of putting it, although most people won't have a clue what you're talkin about
the only reason i agree is that hendrix is also one of my favorite musicians/songwriters ;)

Im sure ill get hell for this but..
Im not impressed at all with his stuff.. BUT I do think he is the Hulk Hogan of Guitarist.
hes over rated ect... but if it was not for him we would not have all the guitar greats like satriani gilbert via Johnson and the list never ends.

I can respect him because he wasn't a master of theory, he just played riffs smoothly and rocked the fuck out, nothing technically amazing. It's like Clapton vs Hendrix. Hendrix has the feeling and soul where Clapton has got the knowledge of composition. Albeit Clapton had plenty soul. Also Hendrix got me way into effect pedals.
