i'm looking for some good hollowpoints for carry and home defense. i will be buying for both .40 and .357 however i think i can use .38 spl +p's as well. i'm not sure about that but i'll check.

whats a good brand, and what should i look for?

Top 3 right now are Winchester Ranger-T's, Speer Gold Dots, and Corbon DPX.
I'd stick to one of those 3.

It was the feed ramp. All hollow points were a problem.

I tried the Winchester Ranger-T's that were in it, Hornady TAPs, Corbon DPX, and the Wal*Mart WWB JHP's.
They all got caught up.

Feed ramps are a problem on my P6. They were not designed to feed JHPs. I tried some federalJHPS and magtechs. Bother jammed every 4 rds or so. My buddy tried some Remington UMC JHPs this past weekend and fed 6-8 mags flawlessly.

I'm packin' Hydrashoks and Aguila Alloy. The Aguila is a 65gr bullet, and the guy I bought them from (gun show) said it's like throwing a hot ball of mercury at someone.

My gf's brother in law and his dad are using some Extreme Shock Fang Face rounds in 9mm (bro) and .380ACP (dad).

It would be one thing if this gun was just a target/range/plinker gun.
But its not, its my daily carry gun, I need to trust my life to it. It needs to function as designed.

IMO, no gun these days shouldn't NOT be able to fire JHP's.
Sounds like your feed ramp needs to be polished... and I guess its pretty easy.

I've heard so many crazy things about Extreme Shock. But the professionals don't seem to think very highly of them.

Sure, others work, but those 3 work the best.

Hyrda-Shoks are old technology. They still work, there are just better options now.

They like to show videos of their stuff going through sheet rock and other things.
Most of it is just good angles and cinematics. I wanted to like their stuff, but alas, its just junk.
Its a niche ammo that really just doesn't have a place in the gun industry.

I mean... if you love to sit there and shoot walls, sweet... go for it. But their ballistics against stopping humans is pretty weak.
This isn't my information, so don't quote me or hold me to it, its just what I've read all over the internet, and even professional articles.

I typically have 2 magazines loaded up with WWB 9mm JHP. A hollow point is a hollow point is a hollow point. If I have to pop somebody, they will NEVER know the difference. Ya know??

I like Federal Tactical. It's designed to penetrate angled laminated glass without deflecting (read: windshield). The core and jacket are bonded together, cycles my USP45CT with the can very well.

Very True. I would go with gold dots or corbons.
