sure. because as we all know, and has been proven time and time again, the Palestinians respect and adhrere to cease-fires.
I dont see a need for peace talks. I see an need to let Israel handle its own problems.
Every time there is a "cease-fire" it gives Hamas a victory, and a chance to gather more grandes and rockets before trying again.
The Israel/Palestine conflict can be over in 1 month if Israel was left alone to handle its own issues

Point taken, but you did not participate in the pole, and you are totally off the mark. Hamas could be fixed if the moderates (Abbas) are strengthened. Seeing that Israel has been in GRAVE BREACH of the 4th Geneva Convention, I don't see how it could get any worse. It should be the other way around, if the Israelis are left alone, and not baby sat by the Americans; the conflict could end it one month too...
Last week a UN Security Council meeting was called by the Palestinians about the destruction and high number of civilian deaths in GAZA due to a massive Israeli incursion.
THE COUNCIL failed to act because the Americans wanted there to be a "balance in the text" condemning Israeli actions and the rockets fired on Southern Israel. That didnt fly, so it failed.
This week, the Council was called by the Israelis to condemn the attack at the School by a gunman. The Libyans and other members of the council called for "balanced text" but the Americans refused! And the Council failed AGAIN.
This is soley due to the American baby sitting of the Israelis...if the Israelis are left alone, and not be able to create wanton death and destriction with impunity; I will guarantee you there will be an end to the conflict sooner than later.

The problem is that it will never happen. There will never be a cease fire between the two groups, because each believes that it is a part of a holy land. But for different religions. The only way the fighting will stop is if one group is killed off, or they decide that it's not important. And we all know that's not gonna happen. Besides, some of the fighting isn't just for the land, it's for vengence. You killed one of us, now we will kill one of yours. And this just goes back and forth. We (americans) need to get out because it's costing us money, and time when we could be using it for something more important. Like domestic policy.

taking the political climate into consideration, and the violence, do you think its still a proper tactic to go ahead with the negotiations?

in the grand scheme of things, what does condemming anything do?
"Palestine, you did bad with the rocket attack. For shame!"
What are they going to do? stop the attacks and go cry in the corner?

Thats not why we stopped it, because if we condemn the rocket attacks, and do not condemn the incursions, we would be giving ligitemacy to the incursions. Politics 101.
