With 24 other people, most (20?) of whom have never shot before. Should be fun. :mamoru:

It's an ROTC sponsored "incentive program" trip, so the plus side is all the ammo, targets, and range fees are covered. The down side is I'm sharing a lane with 4 people, and I have to use the range guns. :hsugh:

It'll be like CATM all over again....I just hope one of them doesn't kill me :o

I hate going to the range in the military. It sucks.. all aspects of it.

Yea...this isn't official CATM though. It's like a ROTC field trip...that I have to do at least one of every semester. :hsugh:

But like I said, at least it's free.

:werd:

I better walk away with at LEAST one funny story. :mamoru:

Last time it was a guy in my flight at field training (when we actually were doing official qualification) who called the range master over because his magazine wouldn't seat.......he had loaded the rounds backwards.

Then he shot expert.

The guy next to me on the range at MP school did that, and got kicked off the range. I think he ended up barely qualing tho.

Well, I'm back. And while nothing cool happened like somebody getting shot, I saw more 2ft groupings at 25 feet than I think I'll ever see in my life.

Some guys actually shot pretty well....and I ended up just staying afterwards with a couple of other guys to shoot our guns that we brought with. That was a blast...had my XD-9sc and a USP Tactical (.40), P2000sc (.40), a Ruger .22 rifle, and a SA Mil-Spec 1911. It was my first time shooting a 1911, and I'm in love.

Yea for sure...I know I sucked when I first started shooting (and am far from an expert now) but some of these guys were BAD.

Well... in their defense, when you're that new to shooting, you need to be focusing most on operation of the firearm(s) and safety, not accuracy.
Accuracy comes much later.

Yeah, everyone wants to be a marksman right out of the box, but like every other sport, there are fundamentals that come first.

Very true...nobody left bleeding so I can't complain. Had a blast too.

And hopefully we turned some people on to firearms...that's always a bonus. I was at the range one day and a guy brought his daughter (she was twenty-something) and taught her how to shoot several guns. she was all about shooting when they left.

I love owning a farm. I don't have to go to a range. Just walk outside. ;)

Yea...there was a cop in the lane next to me teaching her JB daughter to shoot (no pics :o). It was cool and arrousing all at the same time. :naughty:

I've taken a couple girls and one of my guy friends too....all first time shooting, all loved it.

I'm so jealous of that. :o

There are a lot of times when I want to go fire off some rounds but either the range is closed, or I don't feel like driving out to it and/or paying.

Exactly what I was thinking....JB pic wasn't worth the "J" part

But as for dead, my friends and I had more guns there. :noes:
