For CCW.
Yea I know they're heavy and I don't want a 1911 style that's real compact like the EMP. Some could say they're not practicle for CC but idc. I like them. :oopsies:
Problem is I'm trying to spend under 7. :o

How about a Springfield?
The have 4 different 1911's, including a Custom.
I personally enjoy the Mil-Spec

I've thought about them and was set on one. Now I'm getting a 1911 fetish. Plus I like that there are so much aftermarket for them.

Did you find it cheaper? :noes:

I'd go with a MilSpec SA
We have one and I love it. Doesn't feel anything like the Wilson in anyway shape or form, but it shoots great and is reliable. I've alwayed wanted a SA WWII one though. Just for novelty

Shot one of those before....liked it a hell of a lot better than the 92. Pretty sure I'm shooting one again tomorrow too. Should give me a better feel for how I like it since I just started shooting the first time I fired a PX4

have you thought about the XD? I understand it has the same grip angle as a 1911, but available in different calibers. I'm personally not a fan of the 1911 (as in, I can't fucking stand them) but I know they are pretty popular.

1911s are awesome.
A great carry gun is the EMP.

They do have a few decent models, but not the carry versions.
Compact 1911's in general, and especially THEIRS, have reliability issues.

i think i would stick with a fullsize, i've never been a fan of compact 1911's the proportions look off to me for some reason

The best (and generally more reliable) 1911's are full size 5"+ single stacks.
Compact double stack 1911's just can't seem to get it right.

A 1911 full size for CC is LOL. Look into a .40 if you want more stopping power than a 9mm. I own a Kimber Desert Commander (New toy FTW) and a Colt 1991. I use them for home defense and to plink with. For my daily carry I use a H&K USP .40 compact.

40 has a very slim ballistic advantage over 9mm. The differences between ballistic performance in 9/40/45 are minimal.
Ball ammo is a different story.

I've got two gripes about this one:
1. I hate hitting the lanyard loop at the bottom of the handle when I push in a new mag.
2. The extractor pin on mine doesn't always eject shells all the way. :squint:
