I'm a newb when it comes to all this fitness and nutrition so bear with me on this. I came across this protein guide that was pretty informative and thought I'd post it here to help someone else in the same boat as myself.

Now I can make a better decision when the time comes to buy more protein by comparing numbers, knowing what the hell they mean and the different types of packaged proteins out there.

Whey available in 3 common forms:
• Concentrates: lower protein level, more economical.
• Isolates: higher protein level, more expensive.
• Hydrolysates: partially broken down for faster digestion and absorption.
Blended Proteins - if you can only afford one type of protein, go with a blend. Combining faster, intermediate, and slower protein sources.
Pure protein percentage:
Divide grams of protein in a single serving by the serving size and multiply by 100.
Choose "manufactured by" products whenever possible to cut down on cost.
Take protein intake in the morning, before/after workout and before bed.
