View Full Version : EDU Fix "Correct HDD not Found" on upgraded PS3 HDDs

Well, I just got a 320gb HDD and I got this error so here it is. Took some searching but I found some info. You need to limit your new HDD into SATA 1, by placing the jumper on the back all the way to the right. Refer to the image and link below.

cliffs? That thread linked lost me... Is this an issue for all 300GB+ drives? I'm running a WD Scorpio 250GB and never had that issue

No, it is a random problem. Basically the PS3 looks for a SATA1 HDD, and if the jumper is not set to limit your drive to SATA1, it times out and fails to recognize it.
It's only happened to me twice, right after installing it, and never again. Reseting the PS3 makes it recignoze the HDD on the next time you turn it on. It is also said that once you install one firmware update with the new HDD you don't have this problem.
