Looks like you should try leveling it first, then go from there.
close the lid. take a level and put it on top of the lid. then adjust the four legs till the bubble is in the mid point in all diagonals. profit.

If that doesn't help, check the springs underneath that center the drum/transmission assembly (some have them, :dunno: about all though), if one or more are broken/disconnected, there's nothing to keep the thing from beating itself to pieces. It'll slam like crazy with just the slightest out-of-balance load...
