What are some suggestions to reduce the amount of noise and grain, especially when taking pictures indoors.

I'm shooting indoors with 100 ISO but it's still comes out grainy

Expose correctly.
100 ISO should not come out noisy unless it's underexposed and you bring up the levels in post processing.

Other than that use Noise Ninja to get rid of the noise in post.

If you are shooting at ISO100 and still getting noise, then the camera is having problems adjusting to low light..

I've found that the Rebel Series (and I have an original Rebel in my collection) is very tough to get good pictures in low light.

What I have done in the past to help it out, is to increase the light levels in the room that I am taking the pictures in.. If that's not possible, invest in a good Flash.. You can bounce the flash off of a white ceiling to lighten up the whole room.

ISO100 is not very reactive to light (meaning its slower to expose), so your shutter speeds are probably pretty slow as well causing other issues in your photo's. Try upping the ISO to 400.. This will bring your shutter speeds down a bit and will maintain the crispness in the photo.

What other settings are you shooting in? Are you using full manual or are you relying on the Green Auto mode? Green Auto mode is what we call "the drunken uncle" mode.. Pretty much anyone can use it, but its not going to give you great pictures.. Try putting it in "P" mode and adjusting exposure and aperature to get it where you want it. If you bought an SLR and are using it in Point and Shoot mode, you should be ashamed of yourself j/k

Let me know how you make out.

Like other said, ISO 100 shouldn't produce noise unless you're underexposing & jacking it up later.

But read your manual. There are custom settings (C.func) you can turn on and one is noise reduction at higher ISO's.
