ah. well, azumanga daioh and the like probably arent for you then, since the animation style would turn you off. i'm pretty sure samurai champloo's been mentioned in the other thread; that's not bad. elfen lied has plenty of drama, and although it has some supernatural stuff, i'd highly recommend watching it anyways. i'd still say watch toki wo kakeru shoujo, too, it's a pretty good movie.

black lagoon is more action than relationships/drama, but theres a fair share of that, too.

as for enjoying cowboy bebop, i'd say that means you're open to some forms of sci-fi, too, but these should keep you busy enough for now.

I recommend Seirei no Moribito. It has realistic fightings. The characters are also drawn somewhat realistically. Beautiful animation and good plot. It gets a bit slow towards the middle, but picks up again during the end.

Monster - Intense suspense, had me at the at the edge almost the entire series.

Great Teacher Onizuka - Biker turned teacher. Very interesting and funny.

i'm trying to limit my suggestions to what i think falls into the categories of what you want (realisticly drawn, not childish, not fantasy) :dunno:

except for the not fantasy part, ergo proxy is pretty good. it's drawn really well, and has a lot of development between the characters. it's set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world, so theres a high level of technology plus a bit more of fantasy-ness, though, but no mechs or spell casting or anything.
