What should my buddy buy?

He's starting out in photography and looking for a cheap DSLR. He's spending around $800, so that limits him to basic DSLRs.

Brand new he can pick up:
D40
D40X
E210 (I think that's the right model number)
GX-10/K10D

I'm thinking of telling him to just go the K10D. It's a more serious camera than the others. The Nikon limits him in lense choices and the Olympus.......yeah.
Plus the Pentax can be had for only $200 more and is far better in my opinion.
Or I can sell my 20D to him and then buy a new camera :oopsie:

pentax came out with a new 50-200 lens. I personally have never had any problem with my pentax camera and I like the kit lens it comes with.

holy crap, my buddy who's a samsung rep can get me the gx-10 for the same price as the d40. $650 :bowdown:

well, I was kind of surprised when I got it because was a gift from my mom. I had a canon 35mm and I loved it. Then for my birthday she was like here you go and I just never really felt the need to get a different one. I like it.
