3. any ideas that you do to advertiseAny host will allow you to easily upgrade. As for which host, I host myself so I don't have much suggestions other than me lol. Check out www.webhostingtalk.com and run a search before buying anything though.

I purchased a program called FlashFXP, it is very nice, there are other free ones like CuteFTP I think. When you purchase web hosting you will get an IP address, username, and password. You enter this information into your FTP client and you transfer files much like on windows from folder to folder.

Advertising is tricky, the best free advertising is social bookmarking (Sites like Digg, check out http://www.socialmarker.com/).

There is never a definitive answer in respect to who to get hosting from. It's more about the features on average.

I run my own from home, but bluehost seems to be a pretty killer deal.
