i know a teenage girl who's pregnant, jobless and the father is not around. she has recently found religion, christianity to be more specific. the church im sure is going to help her with the baby but its not like theyre going to pay her child support. now it was a big fuckup for her to get pregnant but i really believe that she should get an abortion. the church of course will not tell her to or encourage her to and this is one of the many reasons i hate christianity.
but what do you think she should do?

Couldn't she give it up for adoption? I honestly have no idea how much of a financial burden it is to carry a child for 9 months. It depends on whether she can afford to bear a healthy child or not. Until then, I remain undecided.

Abort.
Seriously, i think it would be selfish and cruel to bring that kid into the world with no resources to provide for it. Religion should play no part in her decision.
Of course i realise its not the easiest choice to make though (emotionally). :hs:

hmm, having it and giving it up isnt really doing whats best for the child either imo, there are so many children up for adoption already it seems unlikely that it will 1, get adopted and 2, that it will get adopted by decent people.

your fucking retarded and clearly dont know what your talking about. There is a wait list for YEARS to adopt a child in the United States. They do extensive screening regarding this type of shit. Why do you think people adopt from China?
your clearly just being a pro-abortion troll so STFU you fucking faggot

yes, there is a wait list, therefore it seems unlikely that the child would get adopted. thats my point
also, im not pro abortion, no one is pro abortion, no one wants there to be an abortion, the word your looking for is pro choice.
there are situations IMO! where you should be able to have an abortion, such as incest, rape and also in the situation stated earlier. unless you think its a good idea for a 17 year old with no job and no father around to have a baby?

 as you said, in your opinion, "it seems unlikely that the child would get adopted," and obviously you don't think the mother is fit.
so what other choice is there? :hsugh:

There are 200,000 couples who desperately DO want your baby! And each year there are only 25,000 babies to adopt. Why not make this unfortunate occurrence a win, win, win?
source: National Council for Adoption
tell her to adopt. it's the clear choice.

Yeah, I think I'm leading towards adoption if this is true (and it appears to be), as long as she can provide for the unborn baby's nutritional needs for the 9 months.

The church helped this person when apparently nobody else did. The girl was probably aware of the church's stance regarding her pregnancy, when she turned to religion.

The church isn't obligated to pay child support.
Respect your friend's decision and help the father of the baby get a job.

your right, the church did help her, but theyre not in the long run. there is nothing good about the situation shes in and a baby will make it worse.

Holy fucking shit your dumb.
There are more parents that want to adopt, then kids that need to be adopted. Thus the parents have to wait to adopt a kid, but the kids dont have to wait a long period of time.....
Its really not difficult to understand.

Its really not difficult to understand. That, and a lot of people are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to a mother to have their baby. She could get set up pretty good after having it. Also, many will pay her living expenses while she's pregnant and doctor's bills when she has it.
BTW, I'm actually pro-choice for 1st and 2nd trimesters, but not third. During the third trimester a fetus is viable and therefore life.

I'm pro-choice. Then again, I'm not birthing any children because I am man.
Far too many children are brought into this world by parents who cannot afford to raise them.

I agree with HCBW, there are enough people and children in this world( just look at china or any welfare full trailer park and battery village) and with more and more people procreating that shouldn't be, they are only helping in dumbing-down america. It's a sad truth...

First of all, anyone who uses the term "pro-abortion" is an idiot. That would mean you are support for aborting ALL pregnancies everywhere. It's called being "pro-choice", to support people to have the CHOICE to abort a baby or not.
Anyways, I'm pro-choice. It sounds like this girl should have the option of either aborting it or putting it up for adoption. I personally think that she shouldn't keep it and try to raise it herself since it would ruin her life and the I'm pretty sure the life of the baby (not saying she'd be a crappy parent but she is pretty young and inexperienced in life).

viable (adj)
1.capable of living. 2.Physiology. a.physically fitted to live. b.(of a fetus) having reached such a stage of development as to be capable of living, under normal conditions, outside the uterus.
So before that it isn't alive? This is where the discussion comes in.

Technically, yes, there is always the option. However, the CHOICE is restricted by religious/moral/medical/legal whatever reasons.
Who can REALLY afford a baby anyways? The cost isn't all it's chalked up to be. I have a child and my finances aren't really effected... I'm "lower middle-class" also. I am with the mother though. We used a program that paid for our formula, because we were unmarried, otherwise we would have been on the street. One income, or lack of, is a big deal though. Obviously the baby has a dad... he can be hit for child support. Even if he tries to deny it they'll paternity him. He refuses to work? Jail... she's choosing not to go after him for 1/2 the burden. In a given month I pay $230 for dayday (half of her daycare) which isn't that much... then additional money for extra food etc... which is pennys on the dollar. I bet it costs about $300 a month for me to have my child.
In this day and age the GOVERNMENT pays for everything when it comes to single moms. Single moms live better then I do, working 40 hours a week, if they milk the system.
Formula can be expensive... that's why we have programs like WIK, daycare is expensive... programs, etc...
I'm not for providing single moms free money but I'm not for abortion either. If the mother is at serious health risk, it was a rape baby, etc... then I believe in it.
It all boils down to her going after the father for child support. Who cares if she's "not with him" it's still his baby. If she's to scared or intimidated tough luck, you're going to have to be stronger then that to raise a child.

Unless she wants to kill a baby :dunno:
Somehow I doubt that the nutritional needs of the baby outweigh the costs of getting an abortion. Not to mention the clear fact that one is taking the life on an innocent person.

The thing with the Government paying, is b/c WE pay taxes, personally i don't want to be paying for other people's kids...
